PSYCHOLOGY ASSOCIATE
WASHINGTON CORRECTIONS CENTER FOR WOMEN (WCCW)**
The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Psychology Associate at WCCW. This position is located in Gig Harbor, WA.
**AGENCY PROFILE:**
The Department of Corrections, as a partner in the criminal justice system, enhances public safety, administers criminal sanctions and programs in accordance with the law, and provides leadership for the future of corrections in Washington State. The Department consists of the Office of the Secretary, Prisons Division, Community Corrections Division, Administrative Services Division, and Health Services. The Department employs over 7,600 staff and has a biennial budget of approximately $1.6 billion.

**WASHINGTON CORRECTIONS CENTER FOR WOMEN** is a 62.6-acre facility located approximately two miles from Gig Harbor. The site includes living units, administration buildings, a health clinic, education buildings, a gymnasium, a chapel, industries buildings, food service buildings, and support facilities.

Duties
Conduct clinical interviews of offenders and complete reports. Recommend treatment needs for offenders on his/her caseload and make appropriate treatment referrals.
Provide individual and group treatment utilizing promising practices and evidence based treatments for assigned outpatient caseload.
Coordinates care with the psychiatric provider and participates in telepsychiatry as needed/assigned.
Attend and provide input in Facility Risk Management Team (FRMT) meetings.
Completes Mental health Appraisals (MHA's) and/or Mental Health Updates (MHU's).
Coordinate with psychiatric provider, medical, and custody on cases.
Respond to facility mental health crises.
Complete suicide risk assessments and determine appropriate housing placements.
Take one week of assigned Mental Health Officer on Duty (MHOD) per assigned rotation and follow MHOD policies and procedures.
Qualifications
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
Master's degree in Psychology from an accredited school or department of psychology whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and one year supervised work experience providing direct psychological services in a mental health facility or like agency.
OR
Master or Doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy, behavioral sciences, mental health counseling, or social work from an accredited graduate school whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and two years supervised work experience providing direct psychological services in a mental health facility or like agency.
Must obtain status as an Agency Affiliated Counselor through the Washington Department of Health or possess a Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Social Worker license from the State of Washington.
