This position is located within Facilities Development and Capital Budget(FDCB) in the Division of Business and Financial Affairs. About the Position

As our Project Manager- Electrical Engineer, you will serve as the institution's electrical engineering representative to manage the programming, planning, design, construction, and acceptance of varied and complex, major and minor public works electrical projects and electrical engineering for in-house electrical projects for Western Washington University.


Your responsibilities will include:



+ Desigining of electrical system projects


+ Providing technical advise and services as well as technical and program related direction and information


+ Conducting consultation selection process


+ Coordinating the planning, design, and construction of large-scale electrical projects


+ Overseeing work of consultants and contractors


+ meeting with and keeping clients and project committees informed of project process


+ Presenting project status to the Board of Trustees


+ Reviewing pay applications, workmanship, and project compliance of contractors


+ working with public agencies and groups for master planning, neighborhood plans, etc


+ Representing the University to Federal, State and local planning and regulatory agencies


+ Ensuring design and construction compliance with International Building Code, Electrical Code, and Fire Codes, Americans with Disability Act (construction portion) and other codes and regulations


+ Serving on internal department committees regarding maintenance and upkeep of records of all buildings, grounds, utilities and other built-environment belonging or leased to the University


+ Participating in interview committees, other campus committees, professional affiliations, and other related activities




Required Qualifications


+ Licensed electrical engineer, with ability to obtain Washington State licensure within six months of beginning employment


+ Professional experience as a licensed engineer with five or more years of experience with building and site electrical systems


+ Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills


+ Ability to manage time well and under pressure


+ Experience managing multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously


+ Ability to work effectively with employees of diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization, and with outside agencies


+ Working knowledge of electrical engineering, construction and project management


+ General knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, and hazardous materials used in construction,


+ AutoCAD proficiency


+ Ability to obtain Washington State driver's license within six months of beginning employment.




Preferred Qualifications


+ Minimum of five years electrical engineering project management experience related to a University setting.


+ LEED certified professional.


+ RCDD certified professional.


+ NICET certified professional.


+ Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, relational databases, and page layout programs.tem one




Salary
$75,600-$96,600
